Hello there everyone! There are a lot of great movies coming out lately, right? I think it will be a breakthrough year! It has just started, but we’ve already seen a lot of great productions. Today we will talk about another of them. It’s about Turning Red, of course! Have you seen it already? I hope so because today I have prepared a quiz on this topic for you. What character do you think you are from this movie? If you answer the twenty questions I have prepared, you will be able to see which character resembles you the most!
Turning Red is a 2022 movie produced by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is an American computer-animated fantasy comedy about growing up. It is directed by Domee Shi in her feature directorial debut, from a screenplay written by Shi and Julia Cho. Actors who voiced the characters include Rosalie Chiang, Sandra Oh, Ava Morse, Hyein Park, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Orion Lee, Wai Ching Ho, Tristan Allerick Chen, and James Hong. The movie is approximately 100 minutes long. It premiered on March 1 and was made available on Disney + on March 11.
What is this movie about? The main character is Meilin Lee, who is a 13-year-old Chinese-Canadian. She is loud, bright, and has extraordinary style. She does what she wants, and no one can stop her. Of course, like all people of this age, she thinks she’s an adult, and sometimes she tries to create that impression. It doesn’t work out often, but she’s usually funny and sweet when she does it, so no one blames her for that. Mei has a group of three best friends who like each other very much. They always stick together and love to spend time with each other. They all go to the same school and spend their days laughing, playing, and fooling around. They always have some crazy ideas, and they have a great time living their best life. It really brings to mind childhood. It makes me think back to school and remember how great it was to be a kid. This is the time when you don’t have to think about difficult things, worry, be responsible and reasonable. It is rather the time when we learn about laughter, joy, peace, and fun. Unfortunately, many children today do not experience this, so it is all the more wonderful to watch this movie today.
Mei helps look after the Lee family temple of their ancestor, Sun Yee and tries to make her strict, overprotective mother, Ming, proud. She tries to hide her personal interests from Ming, such as the crushes on the boys and the fact that she and her best friends Miriam, Priya, and Abby are fans of the boy band 4*Town.
The first of Mei’s friends is Miriam. This is a girl who has a tomboyish style. She loves skateboarding. She usually dresses in comfortable and casual clothes. She usually wears a green beanie and a plaid flannel shirt of the same color, a white T-shirt, loose khaki pants, and sneakers. She has red hair in two braids and bangs. Miriam is a loyal and loving friend.
Another of the three is Abby. She is a short girl with a larger build. She’s fun-loving and chaotic but very supportive of her friends. She’s sometimes a little bit too aggressive. Her nationality is Korean. She has fair skin, brown eyes with bright purple eyeshadow, and long, straight, black hair that forms into a brown ombre. Abby wears a pink turtleneck over which she wears purple flower overalls. In addition, she puts on a pink headband and gold heart-shaped earrings. She also wears white socks and auburn shoes.
The last friend is Priya. She is the most chill and mellow of the four girls while also supporting them and having their back. Sometimes she tends to act as excitable as the rest of her friends. Priya is medium in size, has a brown skin tone, and has fluffy dark brown curls. She always wears round black glasses and an earring in her nose. She is wearing a yellow striped collar blouse, light brown pants, and white sneakers.
Can you imagine getting up in the morning, going to the bathroom, and seeing a huge, fluffy red panda in the mirror instead of your reflection? Well… That’s what happened to Mei. This is a quirk in her family, and she must now accept it and learn to live with it. This situation will teach the girl a lot and help her love herself the way she is. This is an important lesson in her life that will help her a lot. She will also see if she can count on her friends.
Have you seen this movie yet? In any case, be sure to take this quiz and see which character you resemble the most! Answer twenty questions and see what your result will be. Have fun and see you soon!
