Welcome back, everyone! Today you will find out which character from Vikings: Valhalla you are. Have you ever wondered which of the brave Viking warriors you resemble the most? Wait no more, because the questions we prepared will answer this question for you.

Vikings: Valhalla is a historical drama television series and a sequel to the show Vikings. The show is set one hundred years after the events of the Vikings. The broad historical narrative of both series is based on real events, with some of the central characters representing real figures from history or legends. Fun fact: for now, the only character to appear on both shows is The Seer, the ancient blind being, and the Oracle of the city Kattegat.

Vikings: Valhalla tells the story of the beginning of the end of the Viking Age, marked by the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066. The tensions between the Vikings and the English royals reach a bloody culmination. The Vikings themselves are at odds when it comes to their Christian and Pagan beliefs.

Leif Erikson and his sister Freydís Eiríksdóttir, immigrants from Iceland, begin a journey across the oceans and throughout battlefields as they fight for glory and survival in the harsh world of early medieval Europe. They are accompanied by Harald Sigurdsson, the prince of Norway and Freydís’ lover.

Leif Erikson is the son of Erik the Red – the founder of the first Norse settlement in Greenland – and a Viking explorer. Leif is a brave sailor and a fearless man. He’s very loyal to his family, particularly to his half-sister Freydís. He has a tumultuous relationship with his father, and he does not want to be like him. Leif is based on Leif Erikson, the Norse explorer from Iceland who is thought to have been the first European to have set foot on continental North America. He is portrayed by Sam Corlett.

Freydís Eiríksdóttir is Leif’s half-sister and the daughter of Erik the Red. She is very devoted to her Pagan beliefs and staunchly anti-Christian. She and her brother were raised in a harsh environment, requiring a survivalist mentality. Freydís is a strong-willed woman, determined to step out of her father’s shadow and carve her own path in life. Like Leif Erikson, she is based on a real person. Freydís Eiríksdóttir was a woman associated with the Norse exploration of North America; like on the show, she was said to be Erik the Red’s daughter. She is portrayed by Frida Gustavsson, a Swedish model, and actress.

Harald Sigurdsson, also known as Harald Hardrada, is the Prince of Norway and the grandson of Harald Finehair – a character from the show Vikings. Harald was born into Viking nobility and is one of the last Viking berserkers. He is handsome, charming, and a natural leader. He is a Christian but accepts the Pagan way of life and believes the two groups can coexist in peace. Harald Sigurdsson is based on Harald Hardrada, King of Norway, who also claimed the Danish and English thrones at one point. He is portrayed by Leo Suter.

Another major character on the show is King Canute, the powerful King of Denmark and Norway, married to Queen Ælfgifu. His second wife is Emma of Normandy. King Canute is intelligent, savvy, and ruthless. He has big ambitions and wants to build an empire stretching across northern Europe. He is based on the historical Cnut who was the King of England, Denmark, and Norway. He is known for practically uniting Danes and English under his rule. Most records describe him as a wise and successful king, though those accounts might be biased since they come from the Church, which Canute treated very well. The show Canute is played by Bradley Freegard.

Freydís isn’t the only interesting female character on Vikings: Valhalla. Another one is Emma of Normandy. She is the great-granddaughter of the Viking and Duke of Normandy Rollo, a character from the original Vikings show. Emma became the English queen through her marriage to the Anglo-Saxon king Æthelred the Unready. Her second husband is Canute. She arrived in England as a teenager, not knowing the language. Now she considers England her home. She’s bright, politically ambitious, and very protective of her two young sons, as well of her place on the throne of England. Emma is based on the real ruler Emma of Normandy, who was the Queen of England, Denmark, and Norway.

The series Vikings: Valhalla premiered on February 25 on Netflix. In March, the show was officially renewed for a second and third season. The fans must have rejoiced at the news.
