A lot of people think that colors don’t have any impact on our choices, feelings, and behaviors, but a closer look into this matter proves the opposite. Your favorite color can be linked to various personality traits, motivation, and productivity levels in your life.

Colors can affect which product we pick at the store or if we choose one brand over the other. The companies are well aware of this and use it in something called color marketing. For example, brands wanting to be associated with dependability use the color blue. Companies that want to be seen as fun and positive will use yellow or orange. Black designs are often used for products meant to be seen as professional, modern, or manly.

Some brands use red for their “call to action” buttons – for example, “shop now”. This is because red is a strong color, able to incite strong emotions and encourage you to buy things.

Color psychology has been used in marketing and branding for years, but research in the last decade has taken color psychology and applied it to human personality traits.
