Both the female and male African elephants have tusks, which they’ll use to dig for food. They can be found in Sub-Saharan Africa as well, so you might see these on a trip when looking out for lions.

Cheetahs take the title for the fastest mammals on earth. In just three seconds, they can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour, putting even the world’s fastest runners to shame. Getting to see these creatures in their homeland is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and they can be found in Africa or Iran. You certainly wouldn’t want to get in their way when they are on the move.

In Africa, you’ll find there are two types of rhinos: black rhinos and white rhinos. They can be found in Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Kenya. Rhinos are very endangered now due to the poaching that has taken place for so many years. There are many great charities and organizations that are trying to protect these creatures, and the strict anti-poaching laws that are now in place help to conserve the species.

Leopards are another rare animal to see in the wild, and they are nocturnal animals. They are often hidden in trees where they drag their kill to eat. They are found in over 35 countries, so if you ever travel to Africa, you will have a good chance of seeing leopards in the wild.
