We are now taller than before. Fifteen decades ago, our forefathers were about 4 inches (10 centimeters) shorter than modern people. Trijntje Keever was allegedly the tallest woman alive at 8 feet 4 inches. Trijntje quickly became an international sensation because of her height. She had the nickname “De Groote Meid” (“The Big Girl”) in the Netherlands and other European countries. She passed away due to cancer when she was 17 years old. Trijntje Keever’s height remains unverified, but many people consider her the tallest woman in recorded history.
