If you grew up watching the Harry Potter movies or reading the beloved books, you no doubt have a favorite character who you can relate to more than the others in the series. However, you might not know that your personality traits and likes and dislikes are more aligned with another character in the series. Today we’ve put together a unique quiz that will test your personality and match you with one of the most popular characters in the series. If you answer the questions right, you might just be Harry, Ron, or Hermione, but a few bad answers could lead you to the dark path of Voldemort. Keep reading as we recap how the movies and books became so popular with children and adults around the world.
The books in the Harry Potter series were written by J.K. Rowling, and a couple of years after their release, we were introduced to the world of the movies on the big screen. There have been seven books, but eight movies, as the final book was split into two parts when they made the films. The series of films began back in 2001 with the first movie, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and then ten years later, we saw the release of the final part with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. However, fans were excited to learn that the fun wouldn’t end there, as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in 2016 began the new Wizarding World series.
In each movie and book in the series, we are introduced to new characters. While all of us have grown to love Harry, Ron, and Hermione, we are also huge fans of the professors we meet at Hogwarts each year. The movies were primarily produced by David Heyman, who helped to find the talents of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, who played the three main characters in the series. With different directors taking on the movies throughout the series, we’ve always seen new takes on the beloved books. Of course. The main aim of the story has always been for Harry to defeat the evil Lord Voldemort, who we certainly hope you don’t match with at the end of our quiz today.
The movie was first an idea in the late 1990s before the book had even started to become popular. David Heyman had originally ignored the book that had landed in his office, but someone in his team couldn’t put it down when they picked it up. They loved the characters in the book and the world of Harry Potter that we were introduced to. The series continues to follow Harry Potter as he grows up, finding out unexpectedly that he is a wizard and arriving at Hogwarts for the start of his adventures.
J.K. Rowling originally sold the frights for the first four films to Warner Bros. in 1999, and the company ensured that the majority of the roles were filled by British or Irish actors. While they then had to bring in European actors to play some of the roles later on in the series, the films were proudly British throughout. The characters mainly stayed the same throughout the series, with us all watching Harry, Ron, and Hermione growing up on the big screen. For many children, these movies signified their childhood, and they loved growing up alongside the main characters at the same time as they were going through their teenage years. In fact, Daniel Radcliffe was only discovered in a theater by the producer, and it was by complete chance that he was able to have the incredible career that these movies gave him.
If you are anything like us, the Harry Potter books and movies are some of our all-time favorites. Today we’re going to put your personality to the test to see which of the Harry Potter characters you are most like. There are no right or wrong answers in the quiz, but make sure you choose carefully to avoid being the evil Lord Voldemort. Gather together with your friends and family, who will love joining in with the fun and seeing which character they get in our quiz!
