You can find the answer to this question with our quiz. Are you ready to discover the spot that is rightfully yours?
Before you run to find out if you’re a Targaryen or perhaps a Tarly, let’s go through the Game of Throne houses one by one and learn some more about them.
House Stark of Winterfell is the Great House of Westeros and the royal house of the Kingdom of the North. They rule over the northern part of Westeros. The House Stark’s motto is “Winter Is Coming”. Their sigil is a grey direwolf’s head facing sinister on a white background and a green base. House Stark values justice, stoicism, loyalty, and survival.
House Lannister of Casterly Rock is one of the Great Houses of Westeros. The Lannisters rule over the Westerlands. Their motto is “Hear Me Roar”. The House Lannister’s sigil is a golden lion rampant on a crimson field. They are considered to be the wealthiest of all the houses because their lands are full of gold mines. House Lannister values riches, status, cunningness, and power.
House Targaryen of Dragonstone is an exiled Great House of Westeros and the former royal House of the Seven Kingdoms, originally from Valyria on the continent of Essos. The House Targaryen’s motto is “Fire and Blood”, and their sigil is a red three-headed dragon on a black field. The Targaryens have the ability to control dragons at will.
House Baratheon of Storm’s End is a Great House of Westeros that traditionally rules the Stormlands on the eastern coast of Westeros. The House Baratheon’s motto is “Ours is the Fury”. Their sigil is a crowned black stag salient on a gold background. The Baratheons are known for their legendary tempers and powerful postures.
House Greyjoy of Pyke is one of the Great Houses of Westeros. It rules over the Iron Islands, a collection of islands off the west coast of Westeros. Their motto is “We Do Not Sow”, although the phrase “What Is Dead May Never Die” is also associated with the Greyjoys. Their sigil is a gold kraken on a black field. The Ironborn are considered to be barbaric, relentless, cunning, and brash.
House Tyrell of Highgarden is an extinct Great House of Westeros. It ruled over the Reach in the southern part of Westeros. Their motto was “Growing Strong”, and their sigil was a golden rose on a green field. The Tyrells were known for their charisma, decadence, and silver-tongued nobles. With the deaths of Olenna Tyrell, her son Mace, and her grandchildren Margaery and Loras, the House Tyrell appears to be bygone.
House Martell of Sunspear is one of the Great Houses of Westeros. It rules the peninsula of Dorne in the far south of the continent. The motto of House Martell is “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken”. Their sigil is a red sun pierced by a gold spear on an orange field.
House Tully of Riverrun is a Great House of Westeros. It is seated at Riverrun in the Riverlands. The Tullys’ motto is “Family, Duty, Honor” and their sigil is a silver trout leaping on a red chief, over white waves and a blue base.
House Arryn of Eyrie is yet another one of the Great House of Westeros. They rule over the Vale of Arryn. House Arryn’s motto is “As High as Honor”. Their sigil is a white falcon volant and crescent moon on a blue field.
House Frey of the Twins is the former Great House of the Riverlands. Their ancestral seat is known as the Twins for its two identical keeps on both sides of a river connected by a bridge. House Frey’s motto is “We Stand Together” and their sigil is two grey stone towers linked by a bridge on a dark grey field, surmounting an escutcheon of blue water. Their current status is uncertain, following the assassinations of Lord Walder Frey and two of his sons, as well as all the male Freys.
House Baelish of Harrenhal is an extinct noble house that held allegiance to House Arryn of the Vale. Their motto is “Knowledge is Power”. Their sigil is a black mockingbird on a yellow field. After the death of the only living member, Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish, the House became extinct.
