Today we will talk about how pure you are when it comes to contact with others. Recently, the Rice Purity Test has become popular. Assuming you donβt know what it is, let me only say that it has a hundred very private questions. They can be answered with a yes or no. It was created in the 1980s and is concerned with carrying out various acts of immorality, committing crimes, and violence. This test is intended to show how pure the one who solves it is. The higher the score, the closer the person is to purity. We wanted to do something similar, but that test is far too inappropriate for me. If it is for you as well, then youβve come to the right place. We brought you a gentle and decent version of the Rice Purity Test. You can check how rich and full of experiences your social life is. Are you the life and soul of the party and a person open to people, or are you an individualist who is not interested in social life? Today you will see what is already behind you and what is not yet. Of course, remember that not all of the things in our quiz have to be done. Everyoneβs life is different, and each has various priorities, desires, and goals. Do not offend anyone for any reason, and do not assume that one thing is good and the other is not. Just have fun with this test!
As surprising as it may seem, the purity test has quite a history. These tests were among the earliest internet memes. But those of the same type were popular long before the internet was created. In 1935, Columbia University magazine, The Jester, published an article discussing the purity test that circulated at Barnard College that same year. And, in 1936, The Indian Express wrote about Toronto University students asking themselves twenty questions about intimate issues. It was supposed to check their morals and purity ratio. Of course, you could lose points by smoking or kissing someone. Then all sins were added up and subtracted from a hundred. The result was the purity ratio. It is not clear what was proved when you lost all your points. The next mention in the history of these tests is from 1975. It was then that a professor at the University of California, Berkeley wrote the book βWork Hard and You Shall Be Rewarded: Urban Folklore from the Paperwork Empireβ. It included examples of purity tests from Indiana University from 1939 and a more recent one from the California Institute of Technology. Another situation in which these tests were involved was in 1976 when a teacher at La Grange High School distributed the purity test from the Ann Landersβ column. They were sued for this but won the hearing.
Now letβs talk about one of the most popular purity tests, which I mentioned at the start. I am talking about the Rice Purity Test established in the β80s, at Rice University. The first Rice Purity Test took place in 1924. It had questions like, βhave you ever been drunk?β, βHave you ever cheated?β It had 100 questions and served as a survey. At first, it was only given to women. Unfortunately, it led to shaming. Women with a score below 70 were considered immoral, and those above 90 were considered too rigid. This has led to many negative consequences.
The test has recently gone viral. But is it really just fun? It contains many dangerous behaviors that may endanger your health, freedom, and even life. We live in a society that judges others quickly, so of course, people compare their results in everything. When they feel inferior or are ridiculed, they feel terrible. Currently, we live in a generation of depression. People who took the test, as a result, may have lowered self-esteem if the result indicates that they are βtoo muchβ or βnot enoughβ in their peersβ eyes. Then it often pushes people to treat it as a bucket list. We advise against such an attitude because you may expose your well-being to a serious crisis.
Dear Reader! You are much more than enough. If someone thinks there is something wrong with you, the only thing you should change is the people around you. Donβt worry about what others say. You are loved and very precious just as you are. Donβt let someoneβs judgment of you prove your worth. Itβs not like that! Donβt believe it.
You have a 60-question quiz in front of you to help you gauge your experiences with other people. Answer βyesβ if you have already done something, or βnoβ if this did not happen in your life. Donβt take it too seriously as we made it just for your entertainment. So have fun and donβt be stressed by the result. You are incredible just the way you are! Remember, no outcome is wrong. We love you!
