There are not many people who have never heard of this legendary cartoon. ‘Beavis And Butt-Head’ is an American animated TV show created by Mike Judge. The original 8 seasons of the series aired on MTV and then on Paramount+ (9th season and 10th season which will release in 2023). It’s an adult cartoon which tells the story of two dimwitted teenagers, Beavis and Butt-Head. The plot of the show is hilarious and often ridiculous and weird, the unavoidable consequence of protagonists’ lack of intelligence, apathy, laziness, and social awkwardness. 

‘Beavis And Butt-Head’ TV series is full of black humor, weirdness, toilet humor, and love for heavy metal and hard rock music. All first 7 seasons of the show aired in the 90s, golden age of MTV, adult cartoons, and offensive jokes. For many, ‘Beavis And Butt-Head’ induces a lot of nostalgia. Origins Of Beavis And Butt-Head

Mike Judge, an American animator, is the famous creator of ‘Beavis And Butt-Head’ TV show. What is interesting, both protagonist teenagers are voiced by Judge. Beavis and Butthead made their first appearance in Mike’s short film Frog Basketball which was included in the MTV’s showcase of animation films Liquid Television. MTV had to be hugely impressed by Judge’s work, because it ordered a full series featuring uncanny adventures of Beavis and Butthead. The seven seasons ran from March 3rd, 1993 to November 28th, 1997.

‘Beavis And Butt-Head’ turned out to be a success, acclaimed by both critics and viewers. What is interesting, Mike Judge wasn’t happy with the first two episodes of the show, ‘Give Blood/Blood Drive’ and ‘Door to Door’. He revealed that he wondered why anyone would like them because of how awful they turned out. However, his personal opinion was in the minority. For instance, the American magazine Rolling Stones referred to ‘Beavis And Butthead’ as the greatest thing that ever happened on MTV since Michael Jackson’s prime time. 

Beavis

Beavis is one of the teenage protagonists from MTV/Paramount+ tv series ‘Beavis And Butt-Head’. He is incredibly awkward and dimwitted. He is a loose-cannon, acting in an unpredictable way. Because of Beavis’ recklessness and brashness, it is impossible to predict how he will respond to most situations. Although he is considered slightly less intelligent than Butt-Head, Beavis can be inadvertently smart when discussing complex subjects out of nowhere. 

Despite his wild behavior, Beavis is more polite and kind than Butt-Head. He is less likely to criticize or bully other people. Because of that, he is often perceived as Butt-Head’s sidekick.

When it comes to interactions with girls, it is usually Beavis who gets the most attention. Butt-Head tends to be blatant and unshameful while talking with girls, what makes the quieter and less offensive Beavis appear as more cute and attractive.

Butt-Head

Butt-Head is the second protagonist from ‘Beavis And Butt-Head’ tv series. The name ‘Butt-Head’ came from Mike Judge’s university times when some of his friends used nicknames like ‘Butt-Head’ and ‘Iron Butt’.

Butt-Head is portrayed as the leader of the duo. He is a bit more smart than Beavis and more self-aware of what is happening around him. However, he is still semi-illiterate and incapable of noticing subtleties. Make no mistake, both Beavis and Butt-Head are significantly less intelligent than other characters from the series. 

Butt-Head also tends to be much more calm than Beavis and less likely to do something reckless. But on the other hand, he is more prone to violent and cruel behavior. Beavis is much more confident in what he says too, no matter how stupid and ridiculous this is.
