Hi there! What do you see if you look around you? If you’re at home, you’re going to see many various appliances that are necessary for everyday life. You will see your fridge, your vacuum cleaner, your washing machine…Have you ever thought about what would happen if you turned into one of your home appliances for a day? Which one do you think you would be? Take the quiz we have for you and find out which appliance fits your personality the best.
All your appliances have a certain purpose. For example, your coffee maker is for making your coffee, and that’s it. It makes a tasty coffee, but you can’t do much more with it, right? You might be surprised to know that some of the objects in your house can be multitaskers.
Take that coffee maker we talked about – it can do much more than just brew your morning “wake-me-up” beverage. You can cook soup in it – yes, you can! All you need is boiling water and a pack of instant soup. If you want to be more ambitious, combine precooked ingredients (like tomatoes and some protein) with herbs and spices and wait for the hot water to flow through. Let the mixture sit for a bit, taste, adjust the spices if needed, and eat!
You can also warm up a bottle of milk or formula for your baby in the coffee maker. Simply brew a pot of hot water, take the carafe off the burner, and place the bottle inside. Remove it from the pot, swirl the contents, and test it every few minutes until the milk has hit the ideal temperature. It’s a good trick for parents traveling with a fussy infant.
Do you want to boil some eggs? You might find yourself in a hotel room that does provide a coffee maker, but there is no proper kitchen with a stove. Fret not – you will not need the stove to prepare your meal. Place the eggs in the carafe and let the hot water run over them. Make sure the water covers the eggs completely, then let them sit for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how you want them cooked.
There are other objects in your home that can serve more than one purpose. Have you ever spilled some wax on the furniture? You can get it out with your blow dryer. First, scrape off as much wax as you can without doing any damage. Then place a piece of paper towel on the remaining wax and blow over it with high heat from the dryer. The towel will absorb the wax and leave no trace. The heat from the blow dryer will also work on stubborn price stickers. Just blast them with air for a bit and you should be able to peel them off easily.
What if you stepped in some gum? It can be hard to scrape it off from your shoe. Instead of struggling, put the shoe in the plastic bag and put it in the fridge for a few hours. Once you take it out, the gum should come off without issue.
If you don’t use all of your seeds during the planting season, you might be able to save them for the following year! Pat them completely dry before storing them in an airtight container or ziplock bag in the freezer. Label your frozen seeds so you know what they are and when they were frozen, and allow them to thaw before planting.
Have you thought about purchasing a humidifier for your home? Before you run to the store, take a look at your slow cooker. It can help you combat dry air just as well as the actual humidifier. Fill your slow cooker three-quarters full of hot water, cover it with the lid, and set it to the highest setting. Remove the lid after around 15 minutes and let the steam do its magic.
Did you know you can use your iron for more than just your clothes? Utilize it to make quesadillas, grilled cheese, and other toasted sandwiches. Wrap the sandwich in aluminum foil and press down for about 30 seconds. Unwrap it (carefully, so you don’t burn your fingers) and check if it’s warm and the filling has melted. If it’s not quite as you would like it yet, wrap the sandwich back up and press down with the iron a couple more times. Here you have – a tasty snack made with iron!
Dust loves to gather on ceiling fan blades. It can be a struggle to clean them properly. Next time you attempt it, don’t just grab a rag – you will just push all the dust down on the floor, and you. Instead, clean off the blades with a vacuum attachment.
Are you ready to find out which home appliance would you be? Get down to the questions and discover your answer! Sorry – not everybody can be the singing teapot from Beauty and the Beast!
