Hello everyone! Today we will talk about anime. If you are here, you are familiar with the subject to a greater or lesser extent. I invite you to take a quiz that will show you the anime that best suits your personality. In the beginning, however, let’s introduce a few titles that no true fan of Japanese animation will miss.
Let’s introduce my personal number one first, Shingeki no Kyojin also known as Attack on Titan. The plot centers on a civilization inside three walls. According to the knowledge propagated locally, it is the last location where humans still live. Its inhabitants have been led to believe that over one hundred years ago, humanity was driven to the brink of extinction after the emergence of humanoid giants called Titans, who attack and eat humans on sight. The last remnants of humanity retreated behind three concentric walls and enjoyed nearly a century of peace and the thought of venturing outside is frowned upon and discouraged. To combat Titans, the country’s military employs Vertical Maneuvering Equipment. It is a set of waist-mounted grappling hooks and gas-powered propulsion enabling immense mobility in three dimensions.
Fairy Tail is worth presenting as the second one. The world of Earth-land is home to numerous guilds where wizards apply their magic for paid job requests. Natsu Dragneel, a Dragon Slayer wizard from the Fairy Tail guild, explores the Kingdom of Fiore in search of his missing adoptive father, the dragon Igneel. During his journey, he befriends a young celestial wizard named Lucy Heartfilia and invites her to join Fairy Tail. Lucy forms a team with Natsu and his cat-like Exceed partner, Happy. They are joined by other guild members: Gray Fullbuster, an ice wizard; Erza Scarlet, a magical knight; and Wendy Marvell and Carla, another Dragon Slayer and Exceed duo. The team embarks on numerous missions together, which include subduing criminals, illegal dark guilds, and ancient Etherious demons created by Zeref, a wizard cursed with immortality and deadly power.
The third anime I want to mention is One Piece. The series focuses on Monkey D. Luffy, a young man made of rubber, whom, inspired by his childhood idol, the powerful pirate “Red-Haired” Shanks, sets off on a journey from the East Blue Sea to find the mythical treasure, the One Piece, and proclaim himself the King of the Pirates. In an effort to organize his own crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy rescues and befriends a pirate hunter and swordsman named Roronoa Zoro, and they head off in search of the titular treasure. They are joined in their journey by Nami, a money-obsessed thief and navigator; Usopp, a sniper and compulsive liar; and Sanji, a perverted but chivalrous chef. They acquire a ship, the Going Merry, and engage in confrontations with notorious pirates of the East Blue.
The fourth anime in our text is Naruto, which is a title that cannot be omitted. It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village. Naruto becomes a ninja and joins with Sasuke Uchiha, against whom he often competes, and Sakura Haruno, on whom he has a crush. They form Team 7, under an experienced sensei, the elite ninja Kakashi Hatake. Like all the ninja teams from every village, Team 7 completes missions requested by the villagers, ranging from doing chores and being bodyguards to performing assassinations.
The last two anime series are shorter than the aforementioned series. First, let’s mention Violet Evergarden. Its story revolves around Auto Memory Dolls: people initially employed by a scientist named Dr. Orland to assist his blind wife Mollie in writing her novels, and later hired by other people who needed their services. In the present time, the term refers to the industry of writing for others. The story follows Violet Evergarden’s journey of reintegrating back into society after the war is over as she is no longer a soldier, and her search for her life’s purpose in order to understand the last words of her mentor and guardian, Major Gilbert.
The last anime we are going to talk about today is Haikyuu!!. It is a story about a volleyball team learning their strengths and weaknesses together. They join forces and develop to achieve true sports success. When you want, you can really do anything – this anime, among other things, communicates such an important truth.
