Apple is one of the world’s most famous technology companies and offers high-quality consumer electronics and computer software for individuals and businesses. They are the world’s largest technology company by revenue, and they have been rated the world’s most valuable company since January 2021. Apple is one of the Big Five IT companies in the US and sits alongside Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, and Google with this title. No doubt you or one of your family members owns an Apple product, such as an iPhone, iPad, or MacBook. Today we’re going to test your knowledge of this popular brand and its most famous products.

Back in 1976, Apple was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne. The company was originally created with the aim of selling Wozniak’s computer, and a year later, Jobs and Wozniak incorporated the company. The sales of their computers soon grew quickly, attracting attention from individuals and businesses around the world. When the company went public in 1980, it was instantly successful financially. Following this, it continued to add new features to its products, such as the graphical user interfaces that were added to the computers.

Steve Wozniak left the company in 1985, with Steve Jobs also leaving at the time to found the company NeXT. There had been some problems before this time due to the high price of the Apple products and the limited library of applications, as well as internal issues within the company. While the market for computers continued to expand in the next decade, unfortunately, Apple lost some of its market share, with other brands leading the way in the industry. In 1997, the then CEO Gil Amelio purchased NeXT and sought to bring Steve Jobs back into the company. He then went on to replace Amelio as the CEO and took over the position in 1997.

The Think Different campaign was the start of a new era for Apple during this time, and it launched the iMac, iPod, and Apple Stores. This was the start of a new time for Apple, gathering a huge fan base around the world. The company also continued to widen its portfolio by acquiring various other tech companies to expand the software portfolio. In 2007, the company’s signature product, the iPhone, was released and was a financial and critical success. Sadly, in 2011, Steve Jobs resigned from the company, and he died two months later. He was succeeded by Tim Cook in the position of CEO.

The Apple brand has continued on with the legacy of Steve Jobs following his death, and in August 2018, Apple was the first publicly traded company in the US to have a value of over $1 trillion. Just two years later, this doubled to a value of over $2 trillion. The company was able to reach this milestone due to the brand loyalty it has gathered, and it’s been named the most valuable brand in the world. In January 2021, there were currently 1.65 billion products from Apple in use around the world.

While Apple has certainly had its fair share of criticisms over the years, it is known for its high-quality products. Year after year, Apple brings out new and innovative products and features, with recent ones including the AirPods. Apple fans love to update their tech collection and purchase new tools that help make their work and leisure time much more pleasurable. The products are all known for their speed and stylish designs, making them an accessory that anyone will love showing off to their friends and family. Most consumers of Apple products opt to stick with the brand, as syncing between devices is so much easier when you are using Apple products.
