I did not understand why to study geometry as a child. Maybe the additional reason for this was that I did not have the imagination for 3D shapes. But I was working hard and achieved the needed knowledge. Now I use it daily. It helps me with cooking when I decide which plate to use. We use geometry when we want to compare which size of pizza to buy to make it the most reasonable in terms of the highest amount of food and the lowest price. Geometry is everywhere. Please consider it when you think of failing another math exam soon. That will stay with you forever. 

Algebra

If you did not agree with the powerful meaning of geometry in our lives, how about other algebraic equations? You can try to convince me that you do not use maths in your everyday life, but I will not believe you.

I will give you a simple example: Imagine a situation of sitting at work. You have to be there for 8 hours. So what you do? “Ok, I have to stay here for 8 hours, which is two times 4 hours, which is four times 2 hours,” and so on. Does it sound familiar to you? And it is nothing else than mathematics. 

We need mathematics for counting money, planning the family budget, or changing the currency. 

Maybe some of the formulas and methods we studied at school have never been used in real life. But they were not given by mistakes. Maths is not only a practical tool in life. It also teaches us how to use creativity, solve problems, and look at them from a different perspective.
