Am I a Dreamer?

Dreamers are extraordinary people who believe in extraordinary things. They have a positive attitude. Everyone likes to dream and fantasize. However, dreamers spend more time on it. There are some specific signs you’re a dreamer. Dreamers have more hope that these good things will happen to them. Dreamers are carefree people. They like to get away from boring reality. They often escape into art. They read books, paint, write poems. They have a lush imagination, are creative and open to new experiences.

Being a dreamer has many advantages. Dreamers enjoy life and can see meaning even where there is none. Their positive attitude makes them more likely to succeed. They have many interesting ideas. They like to create. They think outside the box. But being a dreamer can also cause various dangers. Dreamers may have a tendency to maladaptive daydreaming. It is a disorder that involves people spending more time in their head than in reality.

They can daydream for very long-term periods, even for hours. Because of the daydreaming, they may neglect their responsibilities and they are less satisfied with their lives. Being a dreamer can also make it difficult to see risks, bad intentions, danger and bad signals in general. Dreamers idealize the world. Therefore, they fail to see flaws in other people and themselves. It is unrealistic thinking that causes many problems in relationships.

Am I a Realist?

Realists are completely different from dreamers. Realists only want to know the truth. Even if it is unpleasant or even cruel. They value honesty and practicality. They can evaluate situations objectively, they are not judgmental.  It comes easily to them to distinguish fact from fiction. For them, the world has no order. It is unpredictable and makes no sense, but they accept it. Realists are often more serious. Others may see them as gloomy pessimists. But they just don’t need sweet illusions.

They realistically assess their capabilities and are aware of their limitations. They are strangers to vanity and hubris. They are ready to be responsible for their actions. They do not cover up their mistakes to escape their consequences. They are used to considering, analyzing and evaluating everything. Before they do something, they always compare all the pros and cons. They anticipate possible difficulties, so when the worst happens, they are prepared.

Realists have many good traits. But they also have some problems. Realists are very critical of themselves and their loved ones. They may have problems forming relationships because they are not very emotional. They don’t forgive their own mistakes. And it makes them suffer and feel guilt when they do something wrong. They may tend to focus on the wrong things, which lowers their mood and satisfaction with life.
