What can you do as a science or math major? A lot! You can be a doctor, a nurse, an entomologist, a zoologist, a biochemist, an IT specialist…the list goes on. These aren’t easy degrees and will require a lot of hard work and studying. If you have determination, a sharp brain, and an interest in the topics above, go for it!

Environment-related majors are the third category. This type of degree will only be more in demand as global climate change becomes an urgent issue. These majors cover several facets of the environment, including ecology, aquatic sciences, environmental engineering, climatology, earth and space sciences, and more.

If you are interested in helping our planet and would like to study the environment, this kind of major might be the best for you. You could become a geologist, a geographer, a zoologist, or work with wildlife conservation. There are many options for you in this field.

Another category is business-related majors. If finance or entrepreneurship is your passion, you might go for a degree in business. There are different subtypes of business majors, including sales, accounting, marketing, economics, informatics, management, human resources, or health services administration.

These are the careers for business majors: accountant, financial analyst, marketing specialist, sales associate, data analyst, research analyst, business analyst, and many more. Does any of that sound enticing?

Engineering and technology majors are highly competitive. It shouldn’t discourage you, though. If you have a technical mind and the determination to work hard, you can achieve anything!

As an engineering or technology major, you could become an engineer, a maintenance technician, a production supervisor, a quality control manager, a system administrator, or a field technician.

Finally, we get to literature, language, and social science majors. They attempt to apply principles of scientific thinking to areas such as the human mind and human interactions.

Depending on what you’re interested in, there are many fields to choose from, including anthropology, ethnics studies, gender studies, sociology, criminology, geography, history, English, library science, philosophy, and social science. Of course, there are many career options for someone majoring in literature, social science, or language. You could be a teacher, a social worker, a scholar, or a psychologist. The choice is yours.
