Myers and Briggs created the MBTI assessment based on their examination of the work of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist, and psychoanalyst, considered to be the father of analytical psychology. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator includes 4 pairs of factors that affect personality. These are:
Extraversion (E) – Introversion (I)
Sensation (S) – Intuition (N)
Thinking (T) – Feeling (F)
Perception (P) – Judgment (J)

Extraversion refers to people who prefer to act than think, enjoy frequent interactions with others, and are more objective. Introversion applies to those who are more subjective, grow primarily through time spent on their own, and could be called thinkers.

Sensation or sensing means people who rely heavily on their physical senses. They prefer facts and details they’ve witnessed or experienced themselves. On the other hand, intuition refers to people who favor abstract information and are more likely to trust their “gut feelings”.

Thinking individuals would rather judge a situation based on facts. Feelings individuals try to put themselves in another person’s shoes and consider how the outcome will influence everyone involved.

Perception refers to the methods people use to collect, analyze, and comprehend information about the environment around them. The judgment relates to how people go about decision-making once they gathered information thanks to their senses and intuition.

INTJ is the Architect or the Mastermind. The Architects are strategic and analytical problem-solvers. They have a plan for everything and want to improve things with their imaginative ideas. They have a talent for seeing possibilities for improvement.

INTP is the Logician. They are very introspective and will analyze any little thing they come across. They have a neverending thirst for knowledge and a desire to understand the laws of the universe. They are innovative, curious, and philosophical by nature.

ENTJ is the Commander. The Commanders are natural leaders, bold, strong-willed, and motivated to organize change. They always find a way to implement their vision. They are great at logical reasoning and articulating their arguments.

ENTP is the Debater or the Visionary. The Debaters are smart, curious, and clever. They enjoy finding new solutions to intellectually challenging problems. They want to understand the people, systems, and rules that surround them. They are natural dreamers, debaters, and quick thinkers.

INFJ is the Advocate or the Counselor. They are quiet, mystical, and idealistic. Fueled by creativity and dedication, the Advocates have the talent for helping others with original solutions. They tend to see the good in the world and other people.

INFP is the Mediator or the Healer. They are poetic, kind, and imaginative idealists. They’re guided by their core values and beliefs. The Mediators dream of creating a better world for everyone. They like to express themselves artistically.

ENFJ is the Teacher or the Protagonist. They are charismatic and inspiring leaders, driven by their vision of what is best for humanity. They have the ability to mesmerize their listeners and persuade them to their ideas.

ENFP is the Champion or the Campaigner. They are warm, passionate, and friendly. They’re people-centered creators with a contagious enthusiasm for new ideas, people, and activities. The Campaigners love to help others discover their creative potential.

ISTJ is the Inspector or the Logistician. They are practical, fact-minded, and responsible organizers. They like order, structure, and harmony. The Logisticians tend to have a procedure for everything they do.

ISFJ is the Protector or the Defender. They are natural helpers and dedicated protectors. They are compassionate, caring, and always ready to defend their loved ones. They are loyal to traditions and organizations.

ESTJ is the Supervisor or the Executive. The Executives are great at organizing and managing projects and people. They are hard-working, traditional, and orderly. They like to go about things methodically.

ESFJ is the Provider or the Consul. The Consuls are highly attuned to the needs of others and very caring and helpful. They sense other people’s emotions and needs. The Consuls are social creatures and usually quite popular.

ISTP is the Craftsperson or the Virtuoso. They are bold and practical experiments, as well as masters of all kinds of tools. They are driven by their strong curiosity and eagerness to make things better.

ISFP is the Composer or the Adventurer. They are flexible and charming artists, always ready to experience something new. The Adventurers like to live in the present and go with the flow. They’re independent, creative, and serene.

ESTP is the Dynamo or the Entrepreneur. These people are energetic, thrill-seeking, and enjoy living on the edge. The Entrepreneurs love being the center of attention and thrive off of action, vibrancy, and adventures. They have a lot of charisma and social skills.

ESFP is the Performer or the Entertainer. They are spontaneous, energetic, fun-loving, and perhaps even hedonistic. Life is never boring around them. They enjoy charming and engaging other people.
